Internet2 Offered Bandwidth

The graphs below illustrate network traffic to and from the Internet2 Network cloud. It is illustrative of data collections on the edge of the network and is not reflective of traffic internal to the network across backbone links.[1] The traffic collections include both peer and domestic connector traffic.

The data reflects collection since the beginning of the transition to the current generation of the Internet2 network in mid 2006. Given the topology changes during the 2006-2007 transitional period, the monitoring data was in a state of transition itself. The data on this webpage should be considered complete as of July 2007.

Historical data on the Cisco GSR-based Abilene network can be found here.[2] Data on the Juniper T640-based Abilene network can be found here.[3]

[2] This time period covers 1999 through the 2003 transition to the Juniper T640 based network.
[3] This time period covers 2003 through 2006 when the Internet2 IP network was transition from Qwest to the Level(3) infrastructure.
